You never want to be on the wrong end of the law, but for one scared puppy in Phoenix, Arizona, that’s exactly where he found himself…literally.
According to Phoenix Police, Lt. Tom Van Dorn was patrolling the roadswhen he came across a pack of stray dogs blocking his path.
He honkedhis car horn and, while three of the dogs ranoff, one frightened pup ran right under his patrol car.
He quickly stoppedto check on the dog, and when he peered under the car, he saw hehad managed to squeeze into the undercarriage of the Tahoe.
It took 20 minutes for the shivering pup to come out, and he even refused to moveafter the officer tried to coax him out with a hot dog.
With the help of Maricopa County Animal Care & Control officers, he eventually crawledout.
When he was examined, it was determined the pup appropriately named Tahoe had no collar or microchip.
Hes currently being held under stray hold until her family claims him,and if that doesn’t happen, he’ll be put up for adoption.
He said that his act to help out one of Phoenixs four-legged residents is part of the job of an officer.
Im a dog owner, he said. Im also a huge animal lover in general particularly when it comes to dogs.
And lucky for that little guy, the verdict is unanimously happy.
