When Craig Armstrong adopted his cat from a shelter, he knew that he was adding another member to his family. What he didn’t know, though, was that he was also getting a new best friend and rock climbing partner. Millie isn’t your normal feline. She isn’t finicky when it comes to climbing crags and rock faces. In fact, she loves it. She naturally seeks out the high ground and challenges Craig, just as much as she is just there to keep him company. This cat takes the cake.
Millie loves to follow Craig and push herself.
It took a while to get her used to the idea…
Craig has to work slowly up the mountain in order to keep an eye on Millie.
He’d be lost if anything happened to her.
“It’s taken a lot of practice and many trips to get Millie to the point where she follows me down a trail past areas like thickets that would have distracted her otherwise.”
She usually doesn’t like wide open spaces with no cover…
He started with local parks first.
She is an incredible athlete.
And she teaches other cats her tricks.
Of course, Craig always keeps her safe with harnesses.
He treats her like any other climbing partner.
She loves slabby areas that she can scramble across.
But she isn’t afraid to take big leaps, either.
Needless to say, Millie isn’t a normal cat.
(H/T Bored Panda) Not every cat is like Millie, so if you decide to try to take your cat mountain climbing… be careful. (In fact, it might be best if you don’t try at all.) She is a one of a kind kitty. Share her unique passion with others by clicking on the button below.

When Little Thomas was found by the Vancouver Island Dogs Rescue Society, he had a severe case of mange. It was so bad that his skin was just sloughing off and his body’s immune system was extremely weak. The society stepped in immediately to save him. By using the combination of medicated baths, medicine and a little TLC, Little Thomas experienced a drastic change. It just took him one month to completely transform into the dog you’ll eventually see below. It’s amazing.
This is what Thomas looked like when he was first brought in.
The mange made all of his skin look painful.
The rescue used Kimberly Matalas “Feel Better” bath products to help battle the mange.
All the while, they bolstered Little Thomas’s immune system.
“We use Kimberly Matalas “Feel Better” bath products to help topically, they are treated for what else it is that are ailing them, put them on a high quality food and then you are cautious with what exposure the dog receives depending on the severity of his health. It’s about boosting the immune system while fighting the immediate sores and problem areas.”
Whatever they did worked!
To help protect his skin, Thomas would wear this onesie around.
Demodectic mange, what Little Thomas had, isn’t contagious and this treatment worked for him.
Sarcoptic is HIGHLY contagious.
After being treated and cleared by the vet, Thomas is healing with the help of his foster family.
(The treatment includes lots of love.)
It’s difficult not to be blown away by this one month of progress.

Otchan is a pig farmer, but he’s unlike one you’ve ever seen before. He has over 1,200 pigs, but he doesn’t treat them as just swine to be sold and butchered. Photographer Toshiteru Yamaji spent years documenting Otchan’s bond with his animals. In the US, we may look the other way when farmers raise their animals en masse in deplorable conditions, but seeing how Otchan interacts with his may change your mind on the subject.
He is very close with all of his animals.
He spends hours bonding with the pigs that he raises.
He cuddles with them, hand feeds them.
Sometimes, he just likes to spend time with them.
He’ll also serenade them with his guitar…
These pigs aren’t just a job for Otchan.
It’s rare to see anyone have this kind of a connection with animals.
Especially hundreds of them.
We wished more people were like Otchan.
His love of pigs is inspiring.
But so is their love for him.
(H/T Bored Panda) To see the rest of Toshiteru Yamaji’s photos of Otchan and his pigs, check out his book on Amazon. They share a bond that is truly touching. Otchan’s pigs have to be some of the happiest oinkers in the world! His farming methods are unique, but we love them. Share them with others!
