Stephen Fry Confesses Into A Webcam What He Really Feels About Being Gay

You may have heard that Britain recently legalized same-sex marriage. Hurray to my home country! You may also know that Stephen Fry is like a god to all English people. With that in mind, let’s celebrate the same-sex marriage law with some real talk from the man himself.

This Guy Delivers A Couple Of Knockout Punches To The Rick Santorums Of The World

Apparently, bad anti-gay talking points have met their match.

For those of you keeping score at home:

  • [0:19] He tells us one thing you can probably blame gay people for.
  • [0:51] He Dismantles the insidious “blame the gays for AIDS argument.”
  • [1:32] He Gives us a surgeon general warning that would make lesbians very happy.
  • [2:00] He takes down another terrible anti-gay argument.
  • [3:00] And another one…
  • [4:30] He cuts the Pat Robertsons of the world down to size.
  • [5:00] He rests his case.

The Future Of Marriage Equality In 1 Stunning Chart

The Future Of Marriage Equality In 1 Stunning Chart

There is no doubt that public support for marriage equality has improved dramatically over the last few years. But to see just how much the politics of the issue has changed, look no further than those human weather vanes, our duly elected U.S. senators.

Regardless of how the court cases get decided, the future for marriage equality looks bright, indeed.

*So, I’m glad to report that this chart is actually inaccurate. Since the creation of this chart, five more senators have announced their support, bringing the total to 54. All but three Democratic senators have publicly expressed their support.

I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to point you toward their Twitter handles, where you can gently remind them that backbones are among the most important things that separate us from jellyfish:

Obama Hasn't Done Anything For Gay People, Other Than 3 Years Of Major Policy Shifts. WHATEVER.

Obama Hasn't Done Anything For Gay People, Other Than 3 Years Of Major Policy Shifts. WHATEVER.

Sometimes my eyelids grow heavy listening to Obama’s opponents lecture us about how he’s only doing things for “political reasons.” I vote for political reasons. I see no reason why my president should be judged for doing the same. Rachel Maddow does a nice job of spelling this out. And so does the fancy graphic the President’s team made.

Want To Help Us Shut Down Some Of The Biggest Bigots On Facebook?

Want To Help Us Shut Down Some Of The Biggest Bigots On Facebook?

You might remember the organization known as One Million Moms for their charming boycott of JC Penney, which demanded that JC Penney find a replacement for talk show host and current spokesperson Ellen DeGeneres because she is a lesbian (spoiler alert: JC Penney refused).

What you might not know is that One Million Moms is an arm of the American Family Association, which is classified as an anti-gay hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Luckily, the good people of the Internet were in no mood for the AFA’s hateful antics when the group tried to stir a similar controversy over JC Penney’s recent Father’s Day ad featuring two gay dads.

Now, I’m not saying everyone should go to the One Million Moms Facebook page and join the fun, but… actually, that’s exactly what I’m saying.

UPDATE: It looks like all the unwelcome attention has led One Million Moms to temporarily deactivate their facebook page. We’ll let you know when the attack is back on, but in the meantime you should cruise on over to the new One Million Moms page, which is 100% supportive of LGBT rights. Let’s get the new page more likes than the original!

Nintendo Got In Trouble For The Lack Of Equality In Their Video Games. They Responded Like Adults.

Nintendo Got In Trouble For The Lack Of Equality In Their Video Games. They Responded Like Adults.

John Oliver’s awesome HBO show, “Last Week Tonight,” covered the recent campaign to get Nintendo to represent all communities in its new video game where straight characters can do anything, including get married, but gay characters can’t. In a rare example of companies doing the right thing, Nintendo responded eloquently and forthrightly, admitting their error and vowing to make it right. Which led to this.

You could share this if you think Link and Mario should be able to live a peaceful, loving life together without other people judging them. Totally your call.
